UST Inc. and Fontanka.ru presented a special project about off-street transport in Russia

In a joint special project Unitsky String Technologies Inc. and the large media Fontanka.ru raise the problem of traffic jams in Russian cities. uST technology is being considered as a solution for decongesting roads.
The media project provides statistics on the road situation and experts’ opinions regarding the prospects for the off-street transport usage in Russia. It is noted that due to its high carrying capacity, uST transport can take over a significant part of city traffic.
One of the speakers was Mikhail Nikulin, Deputy Head of the Passenger Transportation Department of the Novosibirsk City Hall. He assessed the possibility of using uST transport in Russia:
“If UST Inc. is able to create and effectively operate high-capacity rolling stock with high traffic intensity, then, of course, this type of transport will be able to integrate into the main transport framework of large cities.”
Separately, the special project has demonstrated the advantages of transport and infrastructure complexes developed by UST Inc. They do not depend on road traffic or traffic lights and can provide fast, comfortable, and safe transportation compared to traditional types of public transport.
Evgeny Petrov, UST Inc.’s Deputy General Director for Marketing, has noted that often in the media space they only point out the problem of congestion itself, but do not offer a solution:
“In a special project with Fontanka.ru, we don’t just talk about this negative phenomenon: we show definite steps to solve the problem. This is very important, since there are no prerequisites for reducing the number of personal vehicles not only in Russia, but also in the whole world. At the same time, road capacity is often simply not designed for the number of cars that are used in a city. It is obvious that without courageous decisions in transport and logistics sector, the situation with traffic jams in megacities will get worse.”
In addition, Evgeny Petrov drew attention to the fact that Unitsky String Technologies Inc. systematically studies the market and sees what alternative solutions are offered:
“They can be divided into two categories. Expensive solutions – metro, light rail. And ineffective ones - the allocation of a separate lane for buses (Bus Rapid Transit), as a result of which the part of the road allocated for cars becomes narrower, while the number of cars does not decrease. In this sense, our solutions compare favorably. They are more affordable than other off-street transport options, do not require dedicated lanes, and do not take up much additional space in the city, which is already in short supply.”
