The Visit of High-Ranking Guests to uSky: The Routs for Two UAE Regions Are Proposed
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Member of the Federal Supreme Council and the Ruler of Ras Al-Khaimah, and Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the President of the American University of Sharjah, have recently visited the uSky Test and Certification Center. It was part of a visit to the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP).
In order to get a first-hand look at the comfort and safety of the second-level transportation, the delegates took a test drive in a tropical uCar.

Our work was highly evaluated, that certainly motivates us to further develop the project," said the General Designer and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of UST Inc. Anatoli Unitsky.
The application of uST technology could become very popular in Ras Al-Khaimah as well. There is a demand in the region for advanced transport for passenger transportation. Today, it is one of the most dynamically developing emirates in the UAE. The variety of natural landscapes, historical heritage, and plenty of attractions make the region one of the most promising tourist destinations in the country. The ancient settlements within the emirate attract a large number of visitors every year.
During the visit, several potential routes in the emirate were proposed. Thus, there is a possibility to construct the line with a length of 11 km in the direction of “Al Saqr station – Bab Al Bahr – Al Marjan Boulevard – Al Hoor Avenue – Marsa Station – Al Hamra Mall – Al Hamra Village" for the development of tourism. 20 uPods with a capacity of 16 people will be sufficient for passenger traffic. The average speed will be 88 km/h.
Along this route, uST transport can be used not only to take passengers to historical sites, but also for excursions. In uPods passengers will enjoy scenic views from above. At the same time, all of the rail electric cars are equipped with a multimedia and Wi-Fi system. It can help you to learn about the sites outside the vehicle during your excursion.
Another option of the line implies connection of Saqr Port and Al Nakheel. A 23 km string rail overpass could include 11 stations. This location of uST route will contribute to the emirate’s economic development, as well as simplify travel within the city, reduce congestion and travel time, and make the region a more attractive place to live and do business.
In addition, two other routes were considered for the strategic promotion of Ras Al Khaimah. One will connect Mina Al Arab and Wadi Naqab Hiking Starting Point via Zayed Center Station and Al Kharan Round. This route will be 30 km long. The other option will connect Saqr Port with Etihad Rail. A cargo uCont and a passenger uBus will make trips along the 84 km string rail overpass.
The lightweight string rail track can blend seamlessly into the architecture of Ras Al-Khaimah. The integration into the already established urban environment would not require redevelopment of the emirate's infrastructure. This is a particular advantage of uST technology, since the region has many landmarks of architectural value. At the same time, uST transport has almost zero environmental impact, which is especially relevant for preserving the ecosystem of Ras Al-Khaimah.
Today, the local government is focused on innovative projects that will improve Sharjah's attractiveness. Unitsky String Technologies Inc. has something to offer in this regard. The company is developing projects of potential routes for economic and social development of the region. As a reminder, one of the possible directions is to connect Sharjah and Khor Fakkan, a port city on the eastern coast, with a string rail overpass. The length of the track structure could be 130 km.
Besides, as reported earlier, the Sharjah government plans to use the uSky Center as a transportation link for local campuses and showrooms in the Middle East. Thus, uST complexes have sparked interest in the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah. The concept of a future station for uST transport was introduced in a thesis project. The technology was considered to enable safe mobility and an eco-friendly urban transport system.
As we can see, the overhead transport and infrastructure complexes developed by Unitsky String Technologies Inc. may be in demand not only for improving transport connections of the UAE regions, but also for their overall socio-economic development.
