Works on Assembly and Installation Connection for Karat Near Completion at uSky
The process of increasing the speed of the Karat uPod is going as scheduled. UST Inc. specialists are nearing completion on the assembly and connection of a new traction power supply unit to the complex. This enable the uPod to reach speeds exceeding 100 km/h. Now it accelerates up to 85 km/h.
The system comprises two key components. The primary element, situated on the anchoring structure, will provide electrical power to the track structure. A voltage converter, installed in the uPod, will ensure efficient utilization of this power.
Following successful equipment adjustments and testing in April, a comprehensive series of tests is planned before the unit is fully commissioned. Functionality and safety will be rigorously evaluated throughout May and June, with connection to the track structure scheduled to follow.
As a reminder, preparations for utilizing this system have been underway at the uSky Centre. The reliability and safety of all Karat systems have also been thoroughly assessed through stress tests, component testing at various speeds, and detailed analysis of the resulting data.
