State Standards Have Been Approved for Cargo and Passenger uPods
Another important milestone has been achieved in the development of uST technology in Belarus: new standards have been adopted to ensure the safety, quality, and reliability of uST vehicles. The existence of these documents enables voluntary certification, significantly increasing the trust of potential customers and partners.
The Standards were approved by Resolution No. 65 of the State Committee for Standardization on May 30 and will come into effect on August 1 of this year. These include STB 2679-2025 “String Transport Systems. Rolling Stock. Rail Cargo Vehicles. General Technical Requirements” and STB 2681-2025 “String Transport Systems. Rolling Stock. Rail Passenger Vehicles. General Technical Requirements.”
The documents cover a wide range of technical requirements for rolling stock, from the classification of vehicles by speed, design type, and power source to detailed requirements for mechanical equipment, doors, windows, passenger compartments, safety systems, and environmental considerations.
Technical requirements for the design, equipment, and systems of passenger rail transport vehicles in string transport systems are regulated, including the specifications for mechanical equipment, doors, windows, passenger compartments, safety systems, electrical safety, and fire protection. The standards also establish testing and control methods for all key characteristics and parameters of the vehicles. The regulations incorporate international experience and are adapted to the climatic conditions of Belarus.
For UST Inc., these documents open new opportunities for technology commercialization, mass production, and project scaling. The presence of national standards confirms product quality and reliability, facilitating certification and acceptance processes.
