Line Supports for Heavy-Duty uPods Commissioned at EcoTechnoPark

The construction of two semi-rigid string rail overpasses – Lines 6 and 7 – continues at the uST technology testing and demonstration center. These trestles are engineered to support heavy rolling stock weighing up to 60 tones. By the end of last year, the supports for the future transport and infrastructure complexes were successfully put into operation.

The Most Load-Bearing of the uST Lines

Following the resumption of construction on Line 6 – previously halted due to changes in technical and economic conditions – the project was divided into two phases. Currently, the first phase has been completed, which includes the commissioning of anchoring structures, software, power supply, and lighting.

The next stage involves installing the track structure. Once completed, the 912-meter-long line will be the most load-bearing of all the company’s projects, characterized by high load capacity, rigidity, and smoothness of the track. Notably, the string rail overpass will maintain a low material usage.

Large Unsupported Spans

Construction of Line 7, measuring 720 meters, is also underway. Last December, the anchoring structures and supporting towers for this semi-rigid string rail overpass were commissioned. This track will facilitate the testing of suspended heavy uPods weighing over 20 tones.

A key feature of Line 7 is its unsupported spans, which exceed 280 meters. This uST design is optimal for transporting heavy-duty rolling stock in challenging terrains or over existing infrastructure.
