Representatives of Sharjah International Airport Visited uSky Center
Sharjah is gearing up for a major modernization and expansion of its airport infrastructure. In the quest for advanced transportation solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into the airport complex, representatives of the facility visited the uSky Test & Certification Center. The visit was facilitated by the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP).
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to uST transportation solutions designed to enable safe, eco-friendly, and efficient passenger and cargo transportation. Particular attention during the meeting was devoted to exploring the potential integration of uST technologies into the airport’s infrastructure. The planned modernization aims to optimize logistics and enhance passenger convenience.
For Reference
Sharjah International Airport, founded in 1977, plays a significant role in the region’s aviation sector. A large-scale expansion project is set to increase the airport’s passenger capacity to 25 million annually. Simultaneously, efforts are being made to improve the quality of services at this aviation hub.
uST transport solutions could become a key element not only for small local airports but also for large aviation hubs. The overground string rail complexes ensure fast, uninterrupted, and reliable movement of passengers and cargo. The uST track requires minimal land acquisition and can be integrated into the existing infrastructure, providing convenient connectivity between terminals, parking areas, hotels, and other facilities. Furthermore, high speeds and automated control systems offer predictable transport schedules, which are especially crucial for precise airport process planning.
