The construction of the uST complex has begun at the Sosny sanatorium

The construction of the uST passenger transport and infrastructure complex has started in the Sosny sanatorium in Belarus. The construction site was visited by the CEO of UST Inc., Nadezhda Kosareva.

The project envisions the construction of a single-track line that will connect the resort’s residential buildings to the new spa complex. The route will run through the heart of the pine forest.

“The construction of a new transport complex at the Sosny Sanatorium is a significant step for our company. It shows the transition to the real-world operation of our technologies in a recreational setting, where safety and environmental concerns are particularly important. By implementing this project, we demonstrate that modern transportation can seamlessly integrate with the natural environment, making recreational infrastructure more accessible and convenient," said the CEO.

Preparations have begun at the site for the construction of uST stations, where passengers will board and alight. The next stages of the uST project include:

  • The construction of foundations and the installation of metal load-bearing structures
  • The installation of the track structure and laying of power and low-voltage networks
  • The installation of communication systems
  • The installation of a rail uPod on the track structure
  • Facade works
  • Carrying out testing operations
  • Commissioning of the facility

The unmanned rail uPod, designed specifically for the sanatorium, can carry up to 15 passengers at a time, including six comfortable seats. The movement will be completely automated. The uPod will provide a quiet, environmentally friendly, and comfortable ride, making it suitable for people with limited mobility.
