General Designer and Founder of Unitsky String Technologies Inc. Awarded the Winner of Graduate Qualification Work Competition

Last August, Unitsky String Technologies Inc. held a competition among universities for the best graduate qualification work (GQW) – Bachelor’s, Master’s or Postgraduate. The work was supposed to be related to string transport and technologies. The winner of the competition was Nikita Makarov, a 4th year student of the Civil Engineering Faculty in Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. He and his scientific advisor Vladimir Ershov, Associate Professor of Architecture in NNGASU, had visited Unitsky String Technologies Inc. by the invitation from General Director Nadezhda Kosareva.

The company’s employees organized a full excursion in the EcoTechnoPark in Maryina Gorka. At first, the guests were told about the history of string technologies and witnessed the first test module – ZIL-131; its wheels were specially adapted to a track structure. Pilot tests of this vehicle were taken in 2001 in Ozyory, Moscow region.

The guests were mesmerized by how the EcoTechnoPark was constructed. After all, the tidy site of the Innovation Center of UST Inc. was once a tank training range. Now there are innovative facilities, well-tended alleys, gardens…

Undoubtedly, the representatives of Russian academic civil engineering were interested to visit the museum and ground station of string transport and evaluate the benefits of the EcoHouse. The EcoTechnoPark’s employees told them about the prospects of UST technologies and revealed how they can improve the life on Earth. Besides, the guests got to know what are the preconditions to launch string transport and discovered its advantages.

The foreign visitors paid special attention to silent travel of string transport across the EcoTechnoPark. Nikita Makarov and Vladimir Ershov managed to experience and assess the interior comfort of the self-driving vehicles – Unicar and Unibus. Besides, they learned about the application options for these models. For instance, they can be utilized to clear areas with hostile terrain and water barriers. String transport can also be used for recreation. For example, low-capacity models can be engaged in tours across vast territories – nature reserves and parks.

When the excursion came to an end, Nikita Makarov shared that the station of string transport sparked his interest the most:

– The thing is, my work was entitled “High-Rise Civilian Building with Attached Overhead Passenger Station of String Transport System on Chkalov Square in Nizhny Novgorod”. Surely, I was impressed by implementation of the transport technology as well. I’m happy to see it with my own eyes and believe that this solution won’t stop to develop and improve. It won’t be long until many people can try it not only on the test site but in real urban conditions and international travels.

However, the tour didn’t end there. The visitors headed to the company’s headquarters in Minsk where Anatoli Unitsky, General Designer and Founder of Unitsky String Technologies Inc., awarded the winner of the competition and wished him every success in his professional career.

Anatoli told the Russian guests about the company’s philosophy which is focused mostly on how to protect the planet and recover the environment with improved soil and organic gardens. Moreover, he discussed with Russian civil engineers the prospects and directions of further cooperation.

In conclusion, General Designer of UST Inc. presented to Nikita Makarov and Vladimir Ershov his signed books as a memorable gift.
