uST String Transport: A Project for Taiwan
Unitsky String Technologies Inc. has presented a transport and infrastructure complex project for Taiwan that could reshape urban mobility. The proposed route, approximately two kilometers long, is expected to be built in the scenic and historic city of Tainan. The project has been reviewed by local authorities and received high praise from specialists in the city’s transport, construction, and economic departments.
A Road to High Technology
The project was initiated by UST Inc.’s regional partner in Asia, SkyTaxi. The concept has already undergone preliminary technical and economic feasibility studies and could become the first step toward large-scale implementation of string transport in Taiwan.

The proposed route runs in close proximity to the Southern Taiwan Science Park, a key industrial cluster in the country and home to high-tech companies specializing in semiconductors, optoelectronics, and integrated circuits. Today, the park demonstrates strong industrial potential in Taiwan.
Hotels and a Shopping Center Along the Route
The project aims to connect several popular recreational areas in the city. The initial station will be located at the main entrance to Hutoupi Nature Park, encompassing a parking area, shopping zone, and plaza included in the urban development plan for the special Hutoupi Scenic Area (Hutoupi Station). The route then includes intermediate stops in the tourist zone (Lakeside Hotel Station) and near high-class hotels (Lakeside Mountain City Station), before continuing to the terminal station at Xinhua Forest Farm.

The route includes plans for the development of new tourist and business infrastructure:
- A five-star hotel at Lakeside Hotel Station
- A six-star hotel at Lakeside Mountain City Station
- A large shopping mall at the terminal station, Xinhua Forest Farm Station
Additionally, an international conference center and a family-friendly amusement park will be built within the science park area. This will create a balanced environment that combines business activity with leisure, creating a favorable environment for business development.
Comfort for Tourists and Safety for the Environment
Unlike traditional transport systems, the uST string transport has minimal impact on the urban environment, as it does not require the construction of tunnels or bridges, or land acquisition. The system is highly automated and safe, reduces environmental burden, and ensures fast and comfortable travel for both residents and tourists.
“We see tremendous potential for the development of sustainable transport in Asia, and Taiwan is one of the most promising regions. Our solutions allow us to integrate innovative technologies into the urban environment without harming the environment and with maximum benefit for residents. We are pleased to present a project in Tainan that combines advanced engineering developments with respect for cultural heritage and natural landscapes,” noted Evgeny Petrov, Deputy General Director for Marketing at UST Inc.
Confidence in uST Technology
Negotiations for the Tainan project were preceded by a visit of a Taiwanese delegation to the uSky Test & Certification Center in the UAE. The delegation familiarized themselves with both passenger and cargo models of uPods, as well as the operational principles of the uST transport complex. The visit left a strong impression, and the guests expressed confidence in the technology and readiness for future collaboration.
