String Transport on the Agenda of the Union State: Negotiations in Moscow

A meeting took place in Moscow between Anatoli Unitsky, General Designer of UST Inc., and Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State. The discussion focused on potential string transport projects within the Union State, as well as the possibility of including such initiatives in government programs.

Sergey Glazyev actively supports the development of new technologies, including string transport. He has repeatedly proposed considering its implementation to improve the transport infrastructure of the Union State.

The newspaper “Soyuznoye Veche” cites the State Secretary’s words about string transport:

"This is a solution to many issues of transport accessibility. There is no need to build or dig tunnels, or blast through mountains. It is a very eco-friendly, clean, electric mode of transport. All the equipment is ours, our electronics, unmanned cabins. Everything is profitable and efficient. And for Crimea, I believe, it is the ideal transport solution for many transport corridors."

At Sergey Glazyev’s initiative, in October of last year, an off-site meeting of the Scientific and Expert Council under the Standing Committee of the Union State was held at the EcoTechnoPark. Following its results, participants recommended updating issues related to accelerating the certification of string rail transport complexes.

At the same time, a proposal was made to create a consortium of scientific institutes from Russia and Belarus to conduct the necessary research in the field of string transport. This approach will make it possible to effectively implement infrastructure projects and strengthen the technological potential of the Union State countries.
